Reported Crop Circles for the State
of California -
Rockville (1), Solano County (June 28, 2003)
A fifteen-circle geometric formation with the largest circle being about 140’ in diameter Multiple witnesses report seeing BOL over the field the night before the formation is reported. Subsequent studies of the stems by using the L-NEAT protocol confirm that the formation isn’t mechanically-made by people. Germination studies showed accelerated growth in formation plants. The formation’s geometry is studied using Hawkins’ Theorems and several diatonic ratios are discovered. Thousands of people visited this formation. Four teenagers claim credit for hoaxing the formation on July 11 nearly two weeks after the formation is reported, and as evidence for this, they show a local reporter a poorly-made double circle hoax. Their story though is spread widely through the media primarily through the zealous efforts of the one local reporter to (whom the teens went to) that broke the story - even though the teens story was discredited by the local District Attorney and through analysis of the teens’ statements by researchers.
